Codemodity to Participate in ICE London 2020

SiGMA’s iGaming expo is the largest event of its kind for online gambling. Codemodity had the 
				honor of hosting an iGathering dinner with some of the biggest names from the online 
				gaming industry during the expo.
			Our team was present for the extravagant affair where we got to meet and network with hundreds of 
				C-level executives, influencers and decision makers in a relaxed environment. 
				It turns out that this was a fantastic opportunity for everyone from the industry to come together, 
				find common ground and create avenues for forging bigger, better deals in the process. 
			<h3>A Toast To Growth And Progress</h3>
			Attila Papp and Peter Bognar, the founders of Codemodity used this opportunity to discuss critical issues
				that concern the industry, shedding light on new developments and processes that 
				hope to revolutionize the way business is done in 2020 and beyond. 
			As part of this networking event, aka iGathering Dinner Malta 2019, we had the opportunity to discuss
				some creative ideas with leading professionals from multiple industries in an informal setting. 
			<h3>SiGMA iGaming 2019 – The Event In A Nutshell</h3>
			SiGMA is dedicated to developing future technologies and finding new ways to capitalize on them. 
			This was the perfect platform for smaller startups with groundbreaking ideas to get exposure in this industry – and hundreds of them were given free floor space during the show by SiGMA.
			The best part about this event was meeting software and gaming professionals from across the globe. There was an open and friendly exchange of information and the beginning of many productive business relationships – all in hopes of bridging gaps in online markets for the future. 
			Some gaming manufacturers offered demos and discussed ways to improve features while others provided a sneak peek of what they are working on. 
			All in all, it was a highly engaging event, especially for gaming manufacturers and B2B software providers like us, who managed to secure multiple business meetings from the event about iOS app development.

Codemodity Participates in SiGMA Malta 2019

In June 2019, Apple made some changes to its App Store review guidelines, which disqualified many existing gambling apps from being available to download on their App Store. Apple gave app developers until early September to comply with the new rules or risk getting their applications scrapped from the App Store.
			Days after the original deadline passed, Apple extended the target date to 3rd March 2020. After this date, Apple states that it will remove all apps that do not adhere to these updated rules from their App Store.
			The rule that specifically applies to gambling apps exists in article 4.7 of <a href="https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#third-party-software">Apple’s updated App Store review policy</a>. The section states:
			“Apps may contain or run code that is not embedded in the binary (e.g. HTML5-based games, bots, etc.), (…) provided that the software (…) does not provide access to real money gaming, lotteries, or charitable donations;”
			This section specifically prohibits gambling apps from running web-based code and encourages the use of iOS-native code instead. Many existing gambling apps are ‘container’ apps – they essentially repackage their websites into an application wrapper or container. This is because, typically, container apps are quicker to write and easier to maintain than native apps. However, with the introduction of Apple’s new rules, you can no longer publish such apps to the App Store. In order to ensure future availability of such apps on the App Store, developers have to completely re-write their apps based on native iOS code.
			With only three months left for gambling companies to alter their apps, they are at a bit of a disadvantage. Writing a full-fledged app from scratch and testing it to ensure complete functionality, all within three months, is a daunting task at the very least. Additionally, some casino operators have already converted their apps to iOS native code, giving them an edge over the competition. If your online casino would like their iOS app to be among the ones that stay afloat on the App Store after the deadline, choose Codemodity.
